Willow Creek Golf Course- August 15th Looking for 18 scouts and some adult leaders to volunteer at this event.  This year we have arranged an opportunity to earn service hours for Citizenship in the Community merit badge.   This organization can be researched as part of the requirements for the merit badge. Please bring a cooler and some food for the day and wear your uniform. This group is looking for help with unloading and setup starting at 7:00 am and then working then event from 12:00pm until 5:30pm – 6:00 pm.  This will be a day of work and fun. You will be part of the opening ceremony, see Navy Seals parachute in and thank veterans for their service! The veteran award is an adult recognition. Tenure earned as a youth may be included in the total number of years registered. After five years of registered service in the Boy Scouts of America an adult may, upon application, receive the designation of “Veteran”, provided the person agrees to live up to the Scouting obligations; to keep local Scouting authorities in which residing informed as to availability for service; and further to be active in the promotion of the cause of Scouting as circumstances and conditions permit. Please use the attached form to register for a Veteran award. Deadline to turn your Veteran’s Award into Pamela Legried at Gamehaven Council is Wednesday, July 17,2024 and the Council Awards Dinner is Thursday, August 8th. Please turn in your veteran applications by June 30th

Starting this Friday, June 14th and running through August 16th, the Gamehaven Council Service Center will be closing at 1pm each Friday afternoon. We will be back to regular Friday office hours after August 16th. Have a safe and fun summer!

The safety of youth is of the utmost importance, and it is the responsibility of everyone in Scouting to ensure their safety. As such the Gamehaven Council continually reviews and updates its policies utilizing best practices found throughout the country.  This policy will ensure all Direct Contact Leaders have and maintain current Youth Protection Training (YPT). Positions considered Direct Contact Leaders include: Cubmasters, Assistant Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Assistant Den Leaders, Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Merit Badge Counselors, Nova Counselors, and Supernova Mentors. Last year, the Council implemented a check to ensure Direct Contact Leaders are current in YPT on August 1st and all Leaders are current in YPT at the time of Unit Renewal. This month, we will begin to roll out monthly checks for Direct Contact Leaders. Monthly, starting June 2024, individuals with YPT expiring in the next 90 days will receive an email from the Council instructing them to complete the training. Unit Key 3s will receive an email notifying them if a Direct Contact Leader in their unit will have their YPT expire in the next 30 days. Monthly, starting July 2024, Direct Contact Leaders who are not currently YPT trained will have their membership suspended effective immediately. An email will be sent to the
