Make a Memory & Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America

In 100 years, the Boy Scouts of America have turned an adventure in the great outdoors into one of the most effective leadership and character development classrooms in history.  Their programs provide extremely diverse and flexible educational opportunities for boys of all ages and have established settings that enable adult mentoring of youth and peer mentoring withing groups.  They facilitate the development of lifelong friendships and provide countless young men with the experiences of a lifetime.  Scouting's rich history inspires jubilant celebration of their 100th Anniversary.

In honor of the 100th anniversary, a vast assortment of activities have been planned.  Some reach across our nation and some are unique to Gamehaven Council.  Some have already begun and some are still ahead.  Find a few that appeal to you, or challenge yourself to participate in all of them.  But whatever you do - participate and celebrate.

National Hall of Leadership  Take time to remember someone who had an impact on your Scouting experience.  Maybe it is an adult leader.  Maybe it is a boy who accomplished amazing things for someone his age.  You probably have a good story to tell about him.  It is doubtless a story worth sharing.  Please take a little time to tell the story through the National Hall of Leadership.  Your story could be chosen as one of the best stories submitted.  The National Hall of Leadership runs from February 2009 - February 2010.
